Robert Fuchs (February 15, 1847 – February 19, 1927) was an Austrian composer and Professor of Music Theory at the Vienna Conservatory. He was innate within Frauental and died in Vienna at the age of 80. He was a brother of Johann Fuchs, who was besides the composer & conductor, primarily of operas. He taught numerous notable composers, including Gustav Mahler, Hugo Wolf, Jean Sibelius, Alexander von Zemlinsky, Erich Korngold, Franz Schmidt, Franz Schreker, Richard Heuberger, Leo Fall, and Erkki Melartin. Around his life, his better known works were his 5 serenades; their popularity was then peachy that Fuchs acquired a nickname "Serenaden-Fuchs" (about, "Serenading Fox").
